Lady Gaga to join gay rights protest

Lady Gaga will join a protest in Maine against the ban on out gay soldiers in the US military.

A spokesman from the Servicemembers Legal Defence Network (SLDN) said the bisexual singer would join LGBT veterans at the event today in Portland.

Gaga, who has six million followers on Twitter, has been urging her fans to support ending the ban. She attended the MTV Awards last weekend with four gay and lesbian former soldiers who had left the military or been sacked under the policy.

Last week, she urged Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to repeal the policy during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

The SLDN says that today's protest is a last-ditch attempt to get the 60 votes needed to move the National Defence Authorisation Act which has a measure to repeal the gay soldiers policy. The vote on the Senate floor will take place tomorrow.

The group is targeting Republican Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, who it says can help pass the bill. It is not known how either woman will vote yet

Hey, welcome to our blog, espeially to our new followers and if you are vistiting for the first time.
We hope you had a great Christmas weekend amd are not too hungover, we had a geat time with an outdoor lunch on Saturday the star of the meal being a huge chunk of Stilton cheese, a rare and somewhat expensive delicacy here, which disappeared like the snows in summer, Thaiboxer was hoping there'd be some left to soak in port at a later date (strange English Custom!) sadly this was not be :>{
OK, so you need a kick start, we reckon a round or two with our "First Five" may do the trick!!!

Black Ops

Ok, yes, I know its been like a week since I've updated. The Sunday Night D&D game was great (we actually got to play) albeit long as hell. We are finally at the part in the campaign where we get to use our medieval-era standard D&D 3.5 characters (everything previous was d20 modern type stuff) so I'm very excited to play my rogue!

In other news...BLACK OPS IS HERE!! Seriously stoke on this game right now. The graphics may not be as crisp as MW2 but the style work out perfectly for the jungle and ruined towns in which the game takes place. I haven't played solo campaign or zombies yet and I don't really plan on it anytime soon; multiplayer is where its at! I think Trearch did an outstanding job making all of the guns, perks, and killstreaks balanced. There aren't any perks you MUST have to avoid being ROFL-stomped. But Sniping....Sniping sucks. Other than that I really like the money system as well as emblems and titles. It all adds a really great dimension of personalization and creativity. Although, I must admit, it seemed like every other emblem on release day was a giant penis.

Desperadoes: The Real West-Side G's

Over the past week I saw the movie 'Gran Torino' and I can only describe it in one word: Bad-ass. Clint Eastwood plays the role of the recently-widowed and super-racist veteran, and boy is he good at it. Watching this movie made me proud to be an American. Americans carry an air of superiority around that is unrivaled by any culture, and I for one am proud of this fact. As Men of Steel, America became the world power in the industrial age and has over-shadowed the advancements of any county, period. There is no better place to toil and triumph than in America. Now days our image has slipped, as nearly everyone alive was born when America was no longer the underdog. Not many now know what it means to truly suffer and sacrifice for a cause. And I don't mean small stuff, I mean truly, physically suffer for something beyond yourself, whether that be Honor, Ethics, or Morality. I realized Clint Eastwood's characters really represents all of these qualities when I watched 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly'. Here he is a a subdued, cocksure bounty hunter in search of a lost fortune of gold. His cool and sure disposition in the face of mortal danger is both invigorating and inspiring. Being a man of few words, 'Blondie' allows his keen skills and pure fortitude carry him ever onward into the face of danger. In short, he is a straight bad-ass, as is any Western outlaw. Honor and pride are the only things keeping these men in constant mortal strife, yet they feed on this independence and become true titans. Heroes.
If you have not seen any Clint Eastwood movies(,as I know few from my generation have), I really encourage you to do so. I'm currently torrenting 'Dirty Harry' ( go piracy!).
